A social media post is doing the rounds claiming that Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has slammed India over the molestation and assault of a minor girl in Bihar’s Jamui.

A post carrying a screenshot purportedly from her social media profile reads: “Look, even a 17-year-old girl is not safe in India. That’s why I thank Jinnah for creating Pakistan, because otherwise I would have had to live in India, where girls can’t even feel safe.

A social media post falsely attributed critical remarks about India and praise for Pakistan to actress Mahira Khan following a September 19th teen assault in Jamui, Bihar. Investigations found no evidence Mahira Khan made the statement, though police arrested suspects and encountered the main accused in the assault case.

Mahira Khan On Bihar Jamui Assault Did Pakistani Actress Really Post This

“I also didn’t feel safe in India when I was there, and I would request all Indian girls to come to Pakistan to live a life of freedom.”

The post appears to be referring to an incident that took place on the evening of September 19, when a Class 10 girl and her male classmate were returning on a scooter after visiting the Madwa Pahad area in Jamui. A group of youths allegedly intercepted the two teenagers, questioned and assaulted them, while the girl was subjected to inappropriate physical contact. The incident was recorded on video and the footage was later widely circulated on social media.

Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the case, while police have identified other alleged perpetrators and formed a Special Investigation Team to trace them.

The main accused, Nandan Yadav, was also shot in the leg during a police encounter on Tuesday as Bihar Police stepped up efforts to arrest those allegedly involved in the incident.

The alleged post attributed to Mahira Khan has since garnered significant attention online, with several Indian users criticising the actress over the remarks.

Is there any truth to the claim?

There is no evidence to establish that Mahira Khan made the alleged post. No such statement could be found on her official social media accounts, and we could not find any credible report from Pakistani or international media confirming that she made the remarks.

Conclusion

The screenshot circulating online therefore appears to be fake or fabricated and should not be attributed to Mahira Khan without further evidence.
