Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s daughter Divya Saasha made a rare public appearance in Chennai on Friday as her brother Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut Sigma opened in theatres.
Divya was spotted at Kamala Theatre along with her mother Sangeetha. Her appearance quickly drew attention as she has largely stayed away from the media spotlight. It is also reportedly her first public appearance since Vijay took charge as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.
Tamil Nadu CM Vijay’s daughter Divya Saasha made a rare public appearance in Chennai with her mother Sangeetha at the cinema premiere of her brother Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut film, ‘Sigma’.

Divya, who made a brief cameo in her father’s 2016 film Theri, has largely remained focused on her education and is reportedly studying abroad. She is also known for her interest in sports and has played badminton. Unlike her father and brother, she has not shown any indication of pursuing a career in films.
The family’s presence at the theatre came as 25-year-old Jason Sanjay marked his debut as a director with Sigma. The film stars Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah in the lead roles.
While Vijay stayed away from the film’s promotional events, Sangeetha had attended the trailer and audio launch to support their son. Jason had also spoken about the support he received from his family during the making of the film.
At the event, the debutant filmmaker thanked his mother, father and sister, specifically acknowledging Vijay in his capacity as the Chief Minister.
“I would like to thank my mother. I would like to thank my father, who is the Chief Minister today. And I would like to thank my dear sister Divya,” Jason said.
He also urged audiences to watch Sigma in theatres following its October 2 release.
Meanwhile, the movie has opened to fairly positive reviews from the audience. The movie is funded by Lyca Productions which had funded Vijay’s blockbuster movie Kaththi.
