Bridge Collapse Cuts Off Sangla Valley
In Kinnaur district, heavy rainfall caused another major setback after a bridge connecting the Sangla Valley collapsed overnight. The bridge had been left hanging after a landslide weakened its base on Friday. It finally gave way during the night, completely cutting off road connectivity to the valley. However, the bridge had been constructed with the help of Border Roads Organisation and the Indian Army.
Heavy rain continues to batter Kinnaur. Rivers and streams are in spate, and rising water levels have raised concerns around the Sangla Valley Bridge.
