Delhi, Uttar Pradesh And Other Plains to Receive Rain
It is a relief as the department predicted rain and thunderstorm in both eastern and western Uttar Pradesh over the next 24 hours. In West Bengal and Bihar, heavy rain to very heavy rain is expected.
For Delhi, the IMD forecast winds on Monday and sadly there is no major changes expected in the temperature this week with cloudy sky and moderate rainfall. It must be known that the national capital is expected to record a maximum temperature of around 37 degrees Celsius and the minimum to go till 27 degrees.
Whereas western Rajasthan, including Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and Churu are likely to receive light rainfall in July followed by dust storms and winds.
Hill States Continue to Face Heavy Rain
No, the hill stations gets no relief as rain has already caused significant disruption. Several parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand have reported landslides, cloudbursts, road blockages and more.
IMD has issued red alert for six districts in Himachal Pradesh of heavy rainfall. Uttarakhand is also under red alert and the authorities are closely monitoring the vulnerable areas. Rescue teams and local administrations remain on alert as heavy rain continues to affect transport and daily life in the hill states.
Why Monsoon Activity Reduced Earlier
IMD states that the temporary weakening of monsoon activity over the plains was caused by dry winds originating from Pakistan. The dry air currents spread across the Arabian Sea, Central India and parts of southern India sending the monsoon towards Himalayan region.
Now, this is the reason that rainfall is reduced across plains, including Delhi NCR, while the hill states experienced intense showers.
Safety Advisory for Residents
The residents of the alert areas are urged to remain cautious during the upcoming spell of heavy rainfall. They have been asked to avoid travelling in waterlogged roads and landslide prone areas. Travelling in hills is exciting except the monsoon season as it is a life risk.
