Uttar Pradesh is all set to have a major boost in terms of road infrastructure after the central government has approved project costing around 60,000 crores. CM Yogi Adityanath said that every city in Uttar Pradesh having more than 5 lakhs population will get a bypass, also the districts headquarters will be connected through four lane highways.

Uttar Pradesh’s road infrastructure will be significantly boosted by a centrally approved ₹60,000 crore project, ensuring bypasses for cities over 5 lakh population and connecting district headquarters via four-lane highways, according to CM Yogi Adityanath.

Centre Approves Massive Road Connectivity Plan

CM Yogi Adityanath while inaugurating and giving foundation to national highway projects in Lucknow on Monday said the this plan will give major connectivity to both northern and southern districts of UP. He also announced central government has already cleared all the projects.

He said with five lakhs of population cities will have a bypass road and every district will be connected with four-lane roads. These all will be done after Centre approved 60,000 crores project.

The Defence minister Rajnath Singh and Union Road and Transport minister Nitin Gadkari attended the same event. Together they both laid the foundation of the three national highway project costing around 4,850 crores.

This foundation laid to the new projects of Kanpur-Lucknow six-lane expressway, the four-laning of the Hardoi-Lucknow National Highway (Package 4), and a four-lane flyover at Engineering College Chauraha in Lucknow.

CM Yogi said that minister Nitin Gadkari himself reviewed all the state roads infrastructure plan and approved them. He also said that now UP has east-to-west connectivity through major expressways, that includes Purvanchal Expressway, Ganga Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, Lucknow-Agra Expressway, and Gorakhpur Link Expressway.

CM Highlights Infrastructure Transformation

CM Yogi also said that UP has now no more a BIMARU state and it has seen a lot of developments in recent years. He also said that earlier government intentionally made UP a riot, curfew and crime state. He also added that now this state gives a major contribution to India’s economy.

CM Yogi Adityanath said that now the state is known for highways and it has become leader in highways in India. He also said that now sate has got major metro network and airports. He also mentioned that UP has Varanasi-Haldia inland waterway project which PM Modi has visioned for.

CM Yogi said that Greenfield Expressway will connecting Lucknow and Kanpur will give strength between two cities. He also said that it will improve access to districts like Barabanki, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao and Raebareli.
