Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay is set to visit New Delhi for three days, starting June 9, for a series of official meetings. The main agenda is the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting on June 11, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where development and cooperative federalism will be discussed.
According to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Office, Vijay will leave Chennai on a special chartered aircraft at around 8 am. This will be the second official visit to the national capital since Vijay assumed office, and the schedule is expected to remain packed across the three days.

NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting and key political engagements
Besides the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, Vijay is expected to call on President Draupadi Murmu and CP Radhakrishnan. Meetings are also planned with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and senior Congress leaders, whom Vijay did not meet during the previous visit to Delhi on May 27.
During the May 27 trip, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, then returned to Chennai the next day. This time, officials indicated that the additional engagements could extend Vijay’s stay in New Delhi until June 12, with the return flight expected around 6:00 pm.
NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting and visit schedules
The NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting on June 11 will bring together Chief Ministers from all states. Discussions are expected to centre on development priorities and coordination between the Union government and states.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will also be in New Delhi, beginning a two-day visit on June 10 for National Democratic Alliance meetings and the NITI Aayog session, according to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office.The overlapping visits of Vijay and Naidu underline the importance of the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting for state leadership. With a full schedule of political and constitutional meetings, both Chief Ministers will use their time in New Delhi to focus on policy priorities and coordination with the central government.
