In the latest development, US Senator Lindsey Graham, who is a close ally of US President Donald Trump and a Republican from South Carolina dies at the age of 71.

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, passed away at age 71 on Saturday, July 11, following a brief illness. A statement from his office confirmed the news and requested prayers and privacy for his family.
“On the evening of Saturday, July 11, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham passed away from a brief and sudden illness. Senator Graham’s family appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period,” said a statement released from the office of the Republican senator.

Family Requests Privacy
According to the statement Senator Graham died on the evening of July 11 after a sudden illness. Several political leaders and supporters came forth and condoled.
Lindsey Graham represented South Carolina in the US Senate and was one of the most recognised Republican lawmakers in Washington. With time he became a trusted political ally of US President Donald Trump.
Undoubtedly, Graham played a key role in shaping debates on international issues and his was known for his outspoken views.
His Last Public Visit Was to Ukraine
One must know that a few days before his death, Graham made a visit to Kyiv, meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
There he stated that China could play a major role in helping end the war using its influence over Russia. Speaking to reporters, he said that meaningful progress towards peace would depend on Beijing’s willingness to encourage dialogue between the two sides.
He also expressed hope that Russian President Vladimir Putin could eventually agree to negotiations.
