Team India’s tour of England ODI Series and T20I Series against Zimbabwe have got a setback as two changes have been made before the series started. BCCI selection committee has decided Prince Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi to the replacement of the Harshit and Varun.

BCCI replaced injured Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy with Prince Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi respectively for India’s ODI series against England and T20I series versus Zimbabwe due to hamstring injuries.

Harshit Rana Ruled Out of England ODIs

Harshit Rana has been ruled of England ODI series after containing hamstring injury in the third T20 match at Trend Bridge. His injury has become opportunity for Prince Yadav, a pacer from Lucknow Supergiants who has impressed with performance in IPL 2026 and the T20 series against England. He has been come out as a good pace option before the World Cup 2027.

Despite his performance and disciplined bowling which lasted impression to the selectors, team India failed to register even a single win against England. However, his performance helped him get a place in India’s ODI squad against England.

Ravi Bishnoi Replaces Injured Varun Chakaravarthy

Varun Chakravarty also had sustained injury in T20 match against England, which tempted selectors to look beyond him and choose leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi. The mystery spinner who has been dealing with fitness issue since the T20 World Cup 2026 win, has also been ruled out due to hamstring injury.

BCCI confirmed both players injury and announced their replacement in a official statement.

“The Men’s Selection Committee has named Prince Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi as replacements for Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy in India’s ODI and T20I squads, respectively. Rana reported a sudden onset of discomfort in his right hamstring during the third T20I against England at Trent Bridge. Subsequent scans revealed a Grade 1 hamstring injury. He has been ruled out of the forthcoming ODI series against England and will report to the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) for further assessment and management.

Chakaravarthy also reported a sudden onset of discomfort in his left hamstring during the third T20I against England. An MRI scan subsequently revealed a Grade 2 hamstring injury. Based on specialist medical advice, he has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe. He will report to the BCCI COE for further management.”
