BJP president Nitin Nabin told Odisha ministers and party MLAs to visit panchayats and ensure welfare measures reach households, as the party steps up organisational work ahead of panchayat polls. On his first state visit as president, he met party leaders, attended a State Core Committee meeting in Bhubaneswar, and discussed outreach plans.

Nabin arrived on Sunday night for a first Odisha visit after becoming party president. Nabin attended several organisational meetings during the tour. Nabin met party workers, leaders, lawmakers, and the chief minister. The talks focused on steps to strengthen the party in the state. Sources also said Nabin met the council of ministers separately.

BJP Odisha government and welfare measures

Nabin attended a BJP State Core Committee meeting at the party state office in Bhubaneswar on Monday. The meeting covered internal organisational issues. In a post on X, Nabin wrote, “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Ji, the double-engine government is taking Odisha to a new peak of development.\” The BJP government completes two years on June 12.

After the meeting, Rajya Sabha MP Sujeet Kumar linked outreach to the coming rural polls. Kumar said, \”Since the panchayat polls are just seven months away, all public representatives should spend nights in villages, win peoples confidence, know their requirements, while informing them about the BJP governments welfare schemes.\” Kumar stressed village stays and direct interaction with residents.

BJP Odisha training camp and opposition remarks

At a BJP workers training camp in Jatni, Nabin spoke about changes in opposition politics. Nabin said the opposition’s approach had shifted over time. \”In the past, the opposition parties used to play a constructive role and cooperate with the governments. But now the behaviour and tone of the opposition parties have changed drastically. A negative attitude is clearly visible in them,\” the BJP said in an official statement.

Nabin alleged opposition parties were misleading young people. Nabin asked leaders and workers to use social media more actively. The aim, Nabin said, was to counter what Nabin described as lies by opponents. Nabin also said the BJP was the biggest political party in the world. Nabin added that this created a larger duty for workers.

Nabin said Naxalism had almost been defeated. Nabin told workers to say security forces had higher morale now. Nabin said the government had given forces a free hand. Nabin also said infiltration and regionalism remained concerns. Nabin flagged cultural attacks too and linked development with culture.

Nabin said, \”Thwarting infiltration, regionalism, and cultural attacks is a big challenge for all of us. Development should be based on culture. There will be no compromise with both the internal and external security of the country.\” The remarks were delivered during the training camp events. Nabin used the message to outline priorities for party workers.

BJP Odisha events in Jatni and Puri visit

Nabin inaugurated an exhibition at the Jatni camp. Nabin said, \”This event showcases the ideological journey of the organisation and effectively presents the welfare work and achievements of the last 12 years under the leadership of PM Modi and the developmental efforts made in Odisha in the past 2 years.\” The exhibition formed part of the camp programme on Bhubaneswar’s outskirts.

During the Jatni visit, Nabin hoisted a 100-foot-tall national flag. The flag was raised at the Asian Institute of Public Health University. The campus was the venue for the party training camp. Odisha Chief Minister Majhi, BJP state president Manmohan Samal, and other senior leaders were present during the event.

Nabin also visited the Jagannath Temple in Puri with Majhi and party leaders. Outside the temple, Nabin told reporters, \”Following the elections in West Bengal and other states across the country, I had the fortune of having the darshan of Lord Jagannath. The chief minister and all of us have come to pray for happiness, peace, and prosperity for the people of Odisha and the entire nation.\”

BJP state president Samal said Nabin’s visit would boost party workers at the grassroots level. The tour combined organisational reviews, outreach planning, and training events. It also included discussions on welfare delivery through panchayat visits. The BJP is preparing for panchayat polls due in about seven months as the state government nears June 12.
