At least 27 people were killed and dozens were injured after a fire broke out at a packed restaurant in the Ladprao area of Chatuchak district in Bangkok, Thailand around midnight.
The blaze broke out at the Na Ladprao pub, also known locally as Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district. The venue is well known as a popular restaurant and entertainment destination in the area.
A fire at the Na Ladprao pub in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district killed at least 27 people and injured dozens around midnight; the cause is under investigation, with flammable decorations and potential obstructions noted.
Footage shared online showed raging and plumes coming out of the front door of the Na Ladprao pub as people run out, some screaming, and some falling over.

Speaking to media, Thailand Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul told at that 27 bodies have been recovered, and others have been taken to hospital. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, he said.
Citing the account of a musician who was performing at the time, Anutin said smoke was first seen coming from a circuit breaker near the stage before the power was cut. An explosion followed, filling the pub with thick smoke within moments.
Local reports said the victims included 18 women and nine men, while more than 60 people were undergoing treatment in hospitals. Several others were also reported missing.

Bangkok Governor Chatchart Sittipunt, who visited the scene, said highly flammable interior decorations inside the pub may have fuelled the rapid spread of the fire. He also referred to preliminary reports suggesting that tables selling sweets and other merchandise may have obstructed emergency exits, but said the claims would be verified as part of a forensic investigation.
The governor said 63 people were taken to hospitals, including 22 in critical condition. He added that authorities were working to identify the victims, as several were either unconscious or not carrying identification documents.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control in about 30 minutes. Images from the scene showed the pub’s interior extensively damaged, with charred tables, chairs and walls bearing the impact of the fire. Authorities also set up a registration centre outside the venue to help relatives searching for missing family members.
Emergency services were alerted shortly after midnight after a passing motorist spotted flames engulfing the pub at around 11.30 pm local time. The driver reportedly broke the venue’s windows and rescued two people before firefighters arrived.
Singer Sukanya Wongwongwai later said she rushed to the scene after learning about the fire because several of her bandmates had been performing at the pub. According to her, one band member died in the blaze, three were hospitalised and another remained missing.
Based on accounts from survivors, Wongwongwai said the venue was plunged into darkness when the fire broke out, with a power outage followed by thick smoke that made it difficult for people inside to find one another or locate the exits.
The Bangkok pub fire is not the first such tragedy in Thailand. In 2022, a fire at a music pub in the country’s eastern province killed 14 people.
An even deadlier incident occurred on New Year’s Day in 2009, when a blaze tore through Bangkok’s Santika nightclub during New Year celebrations. The fire claimed 66 lives and left more than 200 people injured. Investigators later said the blaze was believed to have been sparked by an indoor fireworks display.
