The Ram Temple Donation theft case has taken an interesting turn as the Supreme Court has issued notices to Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and UP government. Supreme Court sent notice to them after hearing a petition seeking a sole investigation into the donation theft case. The Supreme court has asked SIT (Special Investigation Team) to submit their report within a week as next hearing will be on 20 July.

The Supreme Court issued notices to the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and UP government regarding the Ram Temple donation theft case, asking the SIT to submit its report by the July 20 hearing. Allegations led to resignations from Trust members Champat Rai and Anil Mishra amid findings of security lapses and hidden cash.

Supreme Court Calls For SIT Status Report

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant headed bench asked SIT to submit their report before the court and also asked documents related to the investigation. During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the justice bench that the report of SIT will be submitted in a secret packed. The case has been shifted to next hearing on 20 July, where the court will check the progress of the investigation.

The petitioner in the case has asked for CBI inquiry in the matter, also forensic audit and an investigation monitored by court. However, in response UP government only formed a SIT to investigate this matter. The became nationwide issue after multiple irregularities and handling of temple donation.

Although, after the FIR, several people have been arrested. In one of the arrest is Ram Temple Trust General Secretary Champat Rai’s former aide Tinnu Yadav.

Trust Leadership Changed After Allegations

Champat Rai resigned from his position as Trust’s General Secretary after the case become nationwide topic, his resign was accepted by the trust. Even Anil Mishra one of the trust member also resigned from his post. These actions were happened after the investigation find multiple suspects related to them in the matter.

According to the investigation, there were serious security lapse inside the temple’s donation counting room. The investigation revealed that some of the members hid the cash in their clothes, pockets, shoes and other personal things. The investigation team is also looking for that the diversion of money was carried out from how long and their loopholes.

Now Supreme Court will hear next hearing on 20 July after the SIT report and all the documents will be presented.
