Ankiti Bose Quiet Comeback Bold New Frontier

Dubai / New Delhi — The most interesting thing about Ankiti Bose’s second act is what it isn’t. It isn’t loud. It isn’t nostalgic. And it has almost nothing to do with e-commerce.

Ankiti Bose, founder of Zilingo, is making a quiet comeback with Terra Invest, a new platform focused on AI, healthcare, and renewable energy. Shifting from e-commerce, her venture targets regulated, capital-intensive sectors in the Gulf. This second act tests whether founders universally get a second chance, positioning her for the next decade.

The entrepreneur who once built one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-scaling technology companies has resurfaced not with another consumer app, but with Terra Invest — an investment and operating platform spread across Miami, London, Abu Dhabi and the Gulf, aimed squarely at the sectors most founders find too slow, too regulated and too capital-hungry to touch.

That, of course, may be the point.

From velocity to permanence

Bose’s first decade was defined by speed: McKinsey, venture capital, and a cross-border technology company built before she turned 30 — a run that put her on Forbes Asia 30 Under 30, Fortune 40 Under 40 and the Bloomberg 50, and made her one of the few Indian women to build at genuine scale in Southeast Asian tech.

Speed also brought scrutiny. Years of public attention and corporate conflict followed. What’s emerging now looks like a deliberate inversion of that playbook: less visibility, more institution-building.

Terra Invest pairs financial expertise with public-policy fluency, and its focus reads like a map of the coming decade — artificial intelligence, healthcare and life sciences, blockchain-enabled financial infrastructure, renewable energy. Its partner bench includes former US Ambassador Kirk Wagar and private equity executive Krishan Rattan, a signal that the firm intends to operate where capital meets government, not just where capital meets code.

Why the Gulf, why now

If the thesis is that the next generation of great companies will be born where science, regulation and capital converge — longevity, AI diagnostics, precision medicine, clean energy, fintech rails — then geography matters. Dubai and Abu Dhabi have spent years turning themselves into exactly that kind of convergence zone: pro-innovation policy, deep capital pools, and open ambition in AI, healthcare and medical tourism.

In Dubai, Terra has been linked to healthcare and regenerative wellness platforms that fuse AI, biotech and medical aesthetics — part of the global migration from reactive treatment toward prevention, diagnostics and measurable longevity.

On the surface, it’s a world away from fashion supply chains. Underneath, the instinct is unchanged: find a vast, fragmented market and reorganise it with technology and capital. The difference is that the new markets demand trust, governance and regulatory patience — the raw materials of institutions rather than apps.

The bigger test

There’s a subtext to this story that extends well beyond one founder. In India and Southeast Asia, highly visible women founders tend to be crowned fast and judged faster, while their male counterparts are routinely permitted to fail, pivot and return. Bose’s next chapter will quietly test whether the second act is a universal right of the founder class — or a privilege granted selectively.

Either way, she isn’t rebuilding the last decade. She’s positioning for the next one: AI, longevity, frontier capital, policy-led investing, the Middle East.

The question is no longer what Ankiti Bose once built. It’s whether Terra Invest becomes the vehicle through which she defines the decade ahead — this time, on institutional terms.
