Noida is turning into a Zombieland. In a fresh safety concern, a large portion of flat’s ceiling suddenly collapsed inside a residential society in sector 75. The name of the society is Gardenia Gateway society, where the residents are left worried about the quality of construction and the safety of the buildings.
A ceiling collapse in Noida’s Gardenia Gateway society (Sector 75, C-2 Tower) sparked resident concerns over poor construction quality and safety, although no injuries occurred; locals demand a structural audit.
Well, the good part is that no one was injured during the incident but could have turned fatal.
Ceiling Falls Inside Flat in Gardenia Gateway
The incident occurred in the C-2 Tower of the Gardenia Gateway Society in Plot no. 9 in Noida sector 75. According to the locals the ceiling inside of the flat collapsed without warning. Several images show debris scattered on the floor. The collapse has ignited concerns over the structure and the safety of the society.
Resident Escapes Narrowly
It was a lucky escape for the person inside the house as he had just got up from the bed to drink water moments before the ceiling collapsed. It is unsaid that if the person remained in the same spot, the collapse of the ceiling could have caused serious injuries or even death.
The residents of the society claim that poor construction is a long standing issue. Cracks on the wall, falling plaster, damaged balconies are frequent complaints. According to residents, complaints about these issues are common, but they believe adequate action has not been taken.
Many families say they no longer feel safe inside their own homes or while using common areas of the society.

Parents also expressed concern, saying children are afraid to play outdoors because of fears that another accident could happen.
Demand for Immediate Structural Safety Audit
Following the incident, residents have urged the authorities to conduct a comprehensive structural safety audit of the society and if any repair work is required , must be completed.
