The ticking of the clock is over as the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the result of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2026. The result has been released on 16th July (Thursday) around 10:30 pm.

The NTA announced NEET UG 2026 results, with over 11.21 lakh (out of ~20 lakh) candidates qualifying, notably women outperformed men, making up over 58% of qualifiers. Aryan Gupta and Panshul Bansal achieved the highest score of 715/720.
This year nearly – 20 lakh candidates appeared for the country’s biggest medical entrance examination, and more than 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH and allied health programmes.
Candidates can check and download their scorecards from the official NEET website.
Women Outperform Men
In one of the area to highlight upon is the women’s strong performance.
More than 58 per cent of all qualified candidates are women. The qualification rate among female candidates was also higher than that of male candidates. Around 56.8 per cent of women who appeared for the examination qualified, compared to 55.1 per cent of men.
The majority of successful candidates were between 17 and 19 years of age.

Top Performers in NEET UG 2026
This year, 138 candidates scored more than 690 marks out of 720.
Among them:
- More than 93 per cent appeared for NEET for the first time.
- Nearly 99 per cent belong to the 17-19 age group.
- Nineteen candidates scored above 700 marks.
- A total of 1,492 candidates scored 650 or more.
- More than 10,000 candidates secured 600 marks or above.
- Around 90,780 candidates scored over 500 marks.
The highest score of 715 out of 720 was jointly secured by Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana.
Toppers From Across India
The NTA said qualified candidates have emerged from all 36 States and Union Territories.
Among the state toppers are:
- Ladakh: Jigmet Yangchan Lamo (530 marks)
- Andaman and Nicobar Islands: Dhruv Tripathi (606 marks)
- Lakshadweep: Fahmida Anees (573 marks)
- Seventeen state toppers scored 700 marks or above, while 26 scored more than 690.
The top 17 national rank holders belong to eight states, including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
The NTA also released category-wise qualification figures.
