Bollywood actor Aamir Khan reportedly received a threat from individuals claiming links to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
According to news reports, the alleged threat was shared via a social media post and a voice note, both of which are currently under verification by the Mumbai Police.
Mumbai Police are verifying social media posts and a voice note containing alleged threats against actor Aamir Khan, reportedly from associates of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, citing his marriage as promoting ‘Love Jihad’.
The post accuses him of promoting “love jihad” after his third marriage. The Mumbai Police said they have not yet received any complaint from actor Aamir Khan or his team over the threats.
“Police learnt about the purported threat through media reports and are verifying the Facebook post. The Mumbai Crime Branch has also begun a probe to determine whether the threat was sent to Aamir Khan or his team. Further investigation will proceed after a formal complaint is received,” IANS quoted Mumbai Police in a tweet.

Arzu Bishnoi and Tyson Bishnoi posted the alleged threat, NDTV reported. They happen to be associates of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
“I, Aarzoo Bishnoi and Tyson Bishnoi (Lawrence Bishnoi Group), want to say that people like Aamir Khan are promoting what is being called ‘Love Jihad’ in our country, which is against our culture. We will not tolerate this man, and he will soon be made to face the consequences. This is against Sanatan Dharma and against the nation,” the post written in Hindi read.
The post added, “We promise our brothers, sisters, and fellow citizens that whoever promotes such disgraceful acts will be dealt with in our own way. Those who are encouraging this in the name of stardom will be silenced.”

The post referenced the kidnapping, trafficking, and sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan, last month. While the post praised the administration for its commendable work, it also warned political leaders for allegedly shielding some of the accused. The post warned them to stop interference failing which they have to face the same fate.
The post mentioned, “Our two martyred brothers, Parvesh and Himanshu, will always remain in our hearts. We will not let your sacrifice go in vain. Our enemies will receive a fitting reply. May God grant peace to the souls of both our brothers.”
According to sources, the police received information about the alleged threat via Facebook and a voice note – which they are verifying.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang had earlier issued a series of threats to actor Salman Khan.
