BJP senior leader and Madhya Pradesh government minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has said that Dharmendra Pradhan was ready to resign on very first day of NEET protest. While speaking a day after the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, Kailash Vijayvargiya has said that former education minster had offered his resignation to the party if it was needed but party denied the offer initially.
BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya revealed Dharmendra Pradhan offered his resignation as Union Education Minister on the NEET protest’s first day. The party initially refused, but Pradhan eventually resigned amid the NEET paper leak controversy.
Vijayvargiya Recalls Pradhan’s Early Offer to Resign
While responding to reports in Indore, Vijayvargiya said that he knows Dharmendra Pradhan since the student politics days and referred him as one of the honest and committed party leader.
“From the very first day of the movement, he told the party chief, ‘If you feel that I should resign, I would.’ The party chief refused. But when circumstances became such that the party decided he should resign, he did so in a split second,” he told reporters.
While describing this as good example for party workers, Vijayvargiya added, “This is the hallmark of a good party worker.”
Resignation Came Amid NEET Paper Leak Protests
Interestingly, Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from the post of Union Education Minister after a nationwide protest over NEET paper leak happened asking his resignation. Cockroach Janta Party led the movement at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar for almost a month where the students and opposition leaders asked for paper leak accountability.
While announcing his resignation, Dharmendra Pradhan said that he is resigning to prevent “anti-national forces” to take the advantage of this matter.
BJP Leader Targets Opposition
Kailash Vijayvargiya also said that Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation helped to control the situation in India to not reach the position like what happened in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka after ‘foreign forces’ control the matter there.
“I congratulate him for what he has done,” he said.
He also targeted opposition for taking the benefit of this protest for their welfare.
“The students launched the agitation, and the Congress merely stood behind them. After the West Bengal assembly election, the Opposition became completely demoralised and, in that state of despair, found a ray of hope in the CJP,” he said.
