Guwahati’s NEET Protest seeking the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan took an interesting turn when Assam’s Revenue and Disaster Management Minister and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) leader Keshab Mahanta’s daughter Dibisa joined the protest.

Assam Minister Keshab Mahanta’s daughter Dibisa joined a Guwahati NEET protest, reportedly raising slogans against PM Modi. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma defended Mahanta, stating parents are not responsible for adult children’s actions but disagreed with the slogans.
The social media soon started circulating her video of joining the protest and in the videos she can be seen raising slogans against the PM Narendra Modi. However the videos are true or not are confirmed yet.
Himanta Biswa Sarma Urges Public Not to Target Minister
While responding to the questions regarding the controversy, Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that his minister Keshab Mahanta should not be targeted and trolled over what his daughter did in the protest.
“I don’t think we should attack or troll Keshab Mahanta for the protest by his daughter. She may not follow her father’s political ideology. Tomorrow when my son will practice law, he may defend someone whom I may not like,” Himanta Sarma said.
He also said that adult children are totally free to follow their own political ideologies and it may differ from their parent’s ideologies. However, he also said that it’s not good to hold parents responsible for what their children holds the political ideology and public actions.
CM Disagrees With Slogans Raised During Protest
Although, while defending his minister Mahanta, Himanta Sarma also said that he didn’t support what Dibisa raised slogans in the protest.
“I do not agree with the slogans she raised. When I meet her next time, I will definitely talk to her about it and try to make her understand that what she said was not right,” he said.
New video of Assam Minister Keshab Mahanta’s daughter goes viral now from the CJP’s Protest in Guwahati, questioning the Government.

Protest Linked to Examination Irregularity Allegations
Interestingly, the NEET protest that started by Cockroach Janata Party in New Delhi at Jantar Mantar took a nationwide protest after a protest turned violent on Monday. The protest became so big that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had to resign.
However, the Assam minister Keshab Mahanta has not responded to the controversy yet and neither he released any public statement to the matter.
