In the latest development, US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Washington is engaged in “very deep talks” with Iran, while warning that the United States is prepared to take “strong military action” if diplomatic efforts fail.
US President Donald Trump revealed Washington is engaged in deep talks with Iran, warning of potential military action if diplomacy fails and noting a limited time window for negotiations.
Speaking to Axios, Trump suggested that the window for negotiations is limited. “There isn’t much time. Either it moves quickly or it won’t happen at all,” he said when asked how long he was willing to continue the talks before considering other options.
“Either it goes fast or not at all,” Trump claims.
He said that the holding off the strikes that was widely reported because of the warnings from his generals that they were no longer effective and because the US is running out of missile interceptors – Trump says: “All of the people that deal with Iran asked me: ‘Don’t fire.'”
When asked that what will he be discussing with Prime Minister of Israel – Benjamin Netanyahu, he says: “I am going to talk to Bibi about the fact that if I weren’t president, Iran would have had nuclear weapons by now and Israel would have been destroyed.”
