Indian para-athlete Shilpa K. Shyla clinched the bronze medal in the women’s shot put F57 event at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, adding another medal to India’s para-athletics campaign. Her coach praised Shilpa’s dedication and six months of rigorous training at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) centre in Bengaluru, where she trains alongside gold medallist Sharmila Dhankhar. Calling it a proud moment for Indian para-athletics, the coach highlighted the immense talent emerging from rural India and expressed confidence that Shilpa has a strong chance of winning a medal at the upcoming Para Asian Games.
