Six women were rescued and five persons were booked after flesh trade rackets operating from two places in Beed were busted by the police’s Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), officials said on Thursday.

Beed police rescued six women and booked five people, seizing assets worth Rs 5.21 lakh, after busting flesh trade rackets operating from Charata cross road and a Bahirwadi massage centre.
On July 29, a trap was laid at Charata cross road on the outskirts of Beed town after a tip off was verified through a decoy customer, following which a woman was taken into custody and another rescued, he said. The AHTU team later raided a massage centre located in Bahirwadi on Dhule-Solapur National Highway, rescuing five women.
Vehicles, phones and cash, cumulatively valued at Rs 5.21 lakh, were seized, he said. Two FIRs have been registered at Beed Rural police station under Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act against five persons, the official said.
