Hyderabad commuters will soon get one card that will allow them to travel in both Hyderabad Metro and TGSRTC buses, that too like a single ticket. This proposal was discussed in Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Board meeting which was headed by Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju on July 31. The officials have been directed to check new travel passes to make public transport easy and comfortable.
Hyderabad Metro and TSRTC buses may soon feature a common ticketing system and mobile app, following a July 31 meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, aimed at simplifying commuter travel and exploring new pass options.
Common Ticketing System Under Discussion
Sanjay Jaju has asked the HMRL officials to work with TGSRTC officials to make an common mobility ticket and one common mobile application for passengers. This move is aim to simplify travel for commuters to get travel in both metro and buses.
Daily and Monthly Metro Passes Planned
The chief Secretary has also asked the officials to explore daily, weekly, and monthly passes for the commuters. If this move passed then it will be a passes that could prove a cost-effective option for regular commuters that will lead for greater use of public transport.
Metro Phase II Work Reviewed
The HMRL Board has also checked the progress of on the Phase 1 takeover, land acquisition and easy shift linked to Metro Phase II. Jaju has also asked officials to do the procedure of takeover fast. This will also include additional Metro coaches to expand Metro network to improve passenger convenience. This initiative Integrated ticketing system is going to be adapted in all over Indian cities to increase seamless travel.
