Chaos Erupts During Press Conference
Pappu Yadav said, an unidentified man entered the premises and allegedly tried to attack him with a knife. A video by news wire ANI showed commotion breaking out during the press conference, with people rushing to overpower the alleged attacker. The knife allegedly carried by the man was also seen in the video circulating on social media.

Pappu Yadav Alleges Conspiracy
Speaking after the incident, the Purnima MP claimed that the man had entered his residence with the intention of attacking him. He said people should be able to meet elected representatives without such incidents taking place. Yadav further alleged that there was a conspiracy against him and stated that he had already filed several complaints with the authorities regarding threats to his safety.
Supporters Detain the Accused
Eyewitnesses said the alleged attacker was immediately overpowered by Pappu Yadav’s supporters before he could cause any harm.

One of the MP’s supporters claimed the man pulled out a knife from behind his back during the press conference, prompting those present to intervene.
After being restrained, the accused was handed over to the Delhi Police for further investigation.
Lawyer Alleges Security Lapses
Pappu Yadav’s lawyer criticised the security arrangements at the venue, alleging that repeated requests for adequate protection had not been acted upon.
According to the lawyer, despite raising security concerns over the past few days, only a handful of police personnel had been deployed at the MP’s residence during the press conference.
