The UP government has approved the construction of Jewar Link Expressway, a major road project that will connect Noida International Airport with Ganga Expressway. The proposal got clearance after UP CM Yogi Adityanath chaired cabinet meeting on Tuesday.\
The six-lane expressway has been designed for future expansion to eight lanes, this is being made to strengthen industry growth, improve connectivity, and faster transport corridor through western Uttar Pradesh.
74.46 km Expressway to Boost Airport Connectivity
The new expressway will stretch around 74.46 kilometres and will be totally built in the estimated amount 8,585.51 crores rupees. The stretch will starting from Bhaipur Brahman in Noida and will end near Bahapur village in Bulandshahr, where the stretch will merge with Ganga Expressway.
The project will give easy road connectivity between the Noida International Airport at Jewar to Ganga Expressway. It will also connect with Yamuna Expressway, making travel easier for passengers, businesses and freight operators in the region.
UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) will carry out the project.
Industrial Growth and Logistics to Get a Major Push
UP government expects that the expressway will accelerate industrial development by linking logistic hubs and industrial places connected with Ganga Expressway.
Travellers who will be moving ahead towards Prayagraj and other districts will be connected by Ganga Expressway and will also benefit from a shorter and more easier route from Jewar Airport.
Two Construction Packages, Multiple Structures Planned
The expressway has now been planned to handle traffic demand for next 30 years and initially it will be built with six lanes, which can later turn into eight lanes.
The construction of the expressway will be divided into parts, first section will run from Bhaipur Brahman in Noida to Bichaula village in Bulandshahr. The second section will run from Bichaula to Bahapur.
This project includes around seven underpasses, 11 short bridges, 3 major bridges, and two large underpasses, one flyover and four railway overbridges to make sure uinterrupted movements of the vehicles.
