West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s helicopter made an emergency landing at Kolaghat in East Medinipur on Tuesday after worsening weather conditions forced the pilot to abort the flight to Keshpur.
Adhikari had taken off from Dumdum and was flying to Keshpur in Paschim Medinipur to attend a programme commemorating freedom fighter Khudiram Bose.
West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari’s helicopter made a safe emergency landing in Kolaghat on Tuesday due to worsening weather conditions while flying to Keshpur; he continued the journey by road.
While the helicopter was en route, the weather deteriorated, prompting the pilot to make a precautionary landing at an open ground in Kolaghat. The decision was taken as a safety measure to avoid flying further in unfavourable conditions.
The helicopter landed safely at Kolaghat, with officials confirming that there was no untoward incident. Adhikari and the other occupants of the aircraft were reported to be safe.
Following the emergency landing, Adhikari continued the remaining journey to Keshpur by road. He then attended the scheduled programme and paid tribute to Khudiram Bose.
