Dr. M. Nirmala Devi, Associate Professor of English, researcher, author, soft skills trainer and Pranic Healing practitioner, represents a professional journey shaped by education, continuous learning and a strong commitment to helping others grow. With more than 15 years of academic experience and a Ph.D. in English Literature, she has contributed extensively to teaching, research, communication skills and student development. Her work through KANI Pranic Healing clinic reflects another important dimension of her journey, the exploration of holistic well being and inner balance.

Her academic profile reflects years of dedication to learning and knowledge creation. Dr. Nirmala Devi has published 10 Scopus indexed research papers along with several other research articles and has published 15 patents. She has also authored academic books and textbooks, including Psychology of Teaching and Learning and English for Skill Enhancement. Her research journey has taken her to numerous national and international academic forums, where she has presented and published more than 24 research papers.

Beyond her individual academic contributions, she has been involved in organising and participating in conferences, seminars, Faculty Development Programmes and professional development initiatives. Her experience also includes English language training, soft skills, personality development and career readiness, areas through which she has supported students and young professionals in preparing for both academic and professional challenges.

Her contribution to education has received recognition through the Go Getter Teacher Award 2024 and the International Teacher Excellence Award 2026. Yet, for Dr. Nirmala Devi, professional recognition is only one part of a larger journey.

Over time, she began looking beyond conventional measures of achievement and became increasingly interested in the importance of emotional wellness and personal transformation. This interest led her towards Pranic Healing and a deeper exploration of holistic approaches to well being.

The idea has particular relevance in a world where people are constantly expected to perform, achieve and move forward. Students face academic pressure, professionals manage demanding schedules and families navigate responsibilities that rarely seem to pause. In the middle of this activity, personal well being can easily become secondary.

Dr. Nirmala Devi believes that this is precisely when people need to create space for themselves.

Pranic Healing, as an energy based wellness practice, focuses on awareness of the relationship between the body, mind, emotions and subtle energy. In her understanding and practice, it offers an opportunity for individuals to become more conscious of their inner experiences and explore practices that encourage relaxation, reflection and positive awareness.

Her approach does not suggest ignoring life’s difficulties. Instead, it encourages people to become more aware of how they experience and respond to them. Stress, fear, disappointment, anger and uncertainty are part of human life. Developing awareness can help individuals recognise these emotions rather than allowing them to quietly influence every aspect of their lives.

For Dr. Nirmala Devi, this is where small moments can have significance. A few minutes of conscious breathing, a period of meditation, a positive thought or simply taking time to reflect can create an important pause in an otherwise demanding day.

That pause can offer perspective.

Her philosophy of wellness is also closely connected to her experience as an educator. Education is not simply about acquiring information, earning qualifications or building a career. It is also about developing the ability to understand oneself, communicate effectively, adapt to challenges and continue growing.

This perspective has shaped her message to students, professionals, educators, women and individuals interested in personal development. She encourages people to invest in themselves not only through career advancement, but also through emotional strength, positive habits and inner development.

She believes true success requires more than external achievement. A fulfilling life also calls for emotional balance, meaningful relationships, mental clarity and the ability to face uncertainty with confidence.

Her journey therefore brings together two powerful dimensions of growth, the pursuit of knowledge and the pursuit of inner awareness. One expands the mind, while the other encourages individuals to understand themselves more deeply.

In a culture that often celebrates constant movement, Dr. Nirmala Devi’s message offers a quieter but meaningful perspective. Sometimes, moving forward begins with learning to pause.

Her work is ultimately rooted in a simple belief, when people strengthen themselves from within, they become better equipped to face life’s challenges and contribute positively to those around them.

For Dr. M. Nirmala Devi, the journey of learning continues far beyond the classroom. It is also a journey inward, towards greater awareness, balance, compassion and a more meaningful understanding of well being.
