AAP chief and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh has condemned the arrest of ex-Delhi minister Satyendar Jain on charges that the BJP government is targeting AAP leaders through agencies from the central government.

Following Satyendar Jain’s 2024 arrest by Delhi ACB for alleged Delhi Jal Board STP tender manipulation, AAP MP Sanjay Singh accused the BJP of targeting opposition leaders using central agencies to disrupt parties, citing election pressure.
Jain was arrested by the Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) in a case linked to alleged corruption in tendering processes of the Delhi Jal Board for sewage treatment plants.
Commenting on the arrest of Jain, Singh said that the aim of the BJP government was to destabilize the governments and political parties which oppose it.
Sanjay Singh Says BJP Is Using The Same Strategy Again
Singh claimed that the BJP government had made such arrests against senior AAP leaders prior to the Delhi Assembly elections.
The arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, and himself was cited by him for creating political pressure before the Delhi Assembly elections.
According to Singh, the same policy was being followed ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections.

“This is the policy of the BJP government. Any government that is actually doing something and working should be disturbed and pressed upon in all possible ways,” said Singh.
It was alleged by Singh that the arrests before the Delhi Assembly elections were done to have an impact on the election process.
Singh Links Jain’s Arrest To Punjab Politics
The AAP MP also connected Jain’s arrest to the political situation in Punjab, where the AAP is in power.
Singh claimed that the BJP was worried about its prospects in the state and was therefore using investigative agencies to put pressure on the party.
“BJP is baffled. PM Modi and Amit Shah are unable to understand what they should do in Punjab,” Singh said.
He further alleged that the BJP had realised that it would struggle to succeed in Punjab and was therefore resorting to such tactics.
The AAP leader’s comments come amid heightened political activity ahead of the next Punjab Assembly election.
What Is The Case Against Satyendar Jain?
Jain was arrested by the Delhi ACB along with five other people in a case registered in 2024. The investigation concerns alleged irregularities and manipulation in the tendering process for the expansion and upgradation of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) under the Delhi Jal Board.
The ACB has alleged that tender conditions were manipulated in a manner that could favour a particular technology and private company while limiting competition.
Jain was the Delhi minister responsible for the water portfolio when the alleged irregularities took place. The case is being investigated by the anti-corruption agency.
