Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan expresses concern over flash floods in Nepal, calling the images of the disaster scene “unbearable to watch”.
Amitabh Bachchan expressed his worries about the disaster situation in Nepal as he posted his Raksha Bandhan wishes to his fans on his blog on August 28. The actor posted a picture of his wrists tied with various coloured rakhis and started with his wishes to his sister before shifting his focus to the misfortune in Nepal.
Actors Amitabh Bachchan and Anupam Kher expressed concern over severe flash floods in Nepal, a disaster reported by NDRRMA to have caused 626 deaths, prompting ongoing rescue missions.
“On a more serious note the devastation of the floods in Nepal are unbearable to watch. The fury of nature that we cannot fight but can only pray to, to help us cope,” he wrote on his blog. Bachchan further mentioned how he and his family are praying for the people of Nepal who have been affected by the disaster which was out of their control.

Anupam Kher too shares similar concerns
Bachchan is not the only one in the bollywood industry expressing his concerns; actor Anupam Kher too shared a video of the devastation caused by the disaster on Instagram.
“I am deeply saddened and horrified to see the kind of destruction caused due to these unprecedented flash floods in Nepal. The tragedy has left countless people homeless and has resulted in the loss of many innocent lives. I can’t believe such an unimaginable disaster could occur,” Kher wrote. He further added, “Animals helpless, lives lost, families shattered and homes destroyed; the destruction is unfathomable.”
Calling the situation “heart-wrenching”, Kher expressed his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the disaster. The actor also prayed for the people in Tibet who were affected by the disaster and appealed to people to show empathy towards the affected people.
“Humanity needs to come together and help those affected by the disaster. Lives, homes and properties have gone down the drain in one of the worst calamaties the country has witnessed in recent times. My heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives in the disaster,” he added.
Floods in Nepal: Death toll rises
The flash floods in Nepal have left the nation in shock as rescue operations continue to take place in the disaster struck areas. According to PTI, the death toll in Nepal due to the flash floods in central Nepal has risen to 626 on Saturday as reported by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA).
Authorities in Nepal are continuing with recovery efforts as they retrieved bodies from various districts across the nation.
