A recent ground survey conducted by Times Now Navbharat on Uttarakhand has indicated strong public confidence in the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the BJP government. According to the survey, if the current public sentiment translates into electoral results, the BJP is projected to win 54 seats in the 70-member Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, while the Congress is projected to secure just 14 seats.

Dhami Leads Uttarakhand Polls Ahead of 2027

The survey is being seen as an important indication of the political mood in Uttarakhand ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. Voters were surveyed across different age groups, social categories and key issues, with Chief Minister Dhami reportedly receiving notable support across various sections.

A Times Now Navbharat survey of Uttarakhand voters suggests substantial backing for Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the BJP, with a projection of 54 seats in the 70-member Assembly for 2027. The results show broad cross-community and age-group support for Dhami and policies on women’s reservation and Devbhoomi identity.

On the issue of reservation for women, 88 percent of respondents expressed full support for Chief Minister Dhami’s decision, while only 5 percent expressed complete opposition. Similarly, 70 percent of respondents fully supported the Chief Minister’s efforts to protect the identity and original character of Uttarakhand as Devbhoomi. The figures indicate support for policies aimed at safeguarding the state’s cultural identity and original character.

Dhami Receives Support Across Social Groups

The survey also recorded support for Chief Minister Dhami across different social groups. According to the survey, support stood at 57.3 percent among the Bania/Kayastha community, 50.6 percent among OBCs, 49.7 percent among Punjabi-Sikhs, 46.3 percent among Brahmins, 46.1 percent among Rajputs and 45.3 percent among Scheduled Castes.

The figures suggest that Chief Minister Dhami’s acceptability extends across multiple communities rather than being limited to any particular social group.

Support Across Age Groups

The survey also indicated support for Chief Minister Dhami across different age groups. Among respondents aged 18-25, 37.8 percent expressed support for him. The figure stood at 43 percent among those aged 26-35, 46.8 percent among the 36-50 age group, 50.3 percent among those aged 51-60 and 51.8 percent among respondents above 60 years of age.

UCC, Anti-Copying Law and Good Governance Highlighted

The survey findings attribute the Chief Minister’s growing acceptability to several government decisions and policy initiatives, including the Uniform Civil Code, a stringent anti-copying law, women’s empowerment, protection of Devbhoomi’s original character, development and good governance. According to the survey, these issues have contributed to the government’s acceptance across different social and age groups.

BJP Projected to Win 54 Seats Ahead of 2027 Polls

With the BJP projected to win 54 seats and the Congress 14 seats, the survey presents a positive indication for the Dhami government ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. The broader message emerging from the survey is that public confidence remains strong in a government that places emphasis not only on development but also on protecting Uttarakhand’s culture, identity and character as Devbhoomi.
