Thousands of diyas were lit across several cities on Wednesday as part of the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme organised to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
Marking PM Narendra Modi’s birthday, the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme involved BJP leaders and workers lighting thousands of diyas in Delhi, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Patna, Srinagar, Ujjain, and Kolkata as part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’.
The programme is being held under the BJP-led ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, which is also marking 25 years of Modi’s public service. From Delhi and Bengaluru to Lucknow, Patna, Srinagar, Ujjain and Kolkata, BJP leaders and workers took part in diya-lighting events at different locations.
Diyas Lit At Nizamuddin Dargah In Delhi
One of these functions took place at the Nizamuddin Dargah, Delhi, where the Union minister Kiren Rijiju and the BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain participated in the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ function.

Lamps were lit during the function in connection with his birthday.

The function at the Nizamuddin Dargah took place in the backdrop of other functions being arranged throughout the national capital, including a massive lamp-lighting ceremony at Kartavya Path.
Rekha Gupta Attends Kartavya Path Event
‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ program was organized by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at Kartavya Path as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.

The people joined in the program and celebrated the lighting of the diya for Modi’s birthday. Gupta, on that day morning, had taken part in the 108-kund havan and even donated blood.
Bengaluru Event Sees BJP Leaders Light Diyas
In Bengaluru, BJP leaders and workers organised an ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme near Jayanagar 4th Block in the Jayanagar Assembly constituency.

Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly R Ashoka, local BJP MLA Ramamurthy and Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya were among those present.
Hundreds of BJP workers joined the event, where earthen lamps were lit as part of the celebrations.

Two Lakh Diyas Planned In Lucknow
A major diya-lighting programme was organised at Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow.
Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya attended the event.
The programme featured plans to light around two lakh earthen lamps at Prerna Sthal on the occasion of Modi’s birthday.

Patna Joins The Celebrations
In Patna, the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme was held at Marine Drive.
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary attended the event as people gathered to light diyas as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
The riverside location provided a prominent setting for the evening programme, with lamps being lit along the venue.

Diyas And Candles Lit In Srinagar
The BJP members and workers took part in the programme held in Lal Chowk, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. The programme was presided over by J&K Leader of the Opposition, Sunil Sharma. BJP workers lit candles as part of the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme commemorating the birthday of Narendra Modi.

The programme was one of the many programmes organized by the party in various parts of the country.
Ujjain Sees Aarti On Shipra Riverbank
In Madhya Pradesh, the celebrations were held along the banks of the Shipra River in Ujjain. Visuals from the event showed diyas being lit near the river, while an aarti was also performed.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav attended the programme along with BJP national president Nitin Nabin.
The riverside setting added a traditional element to the evening celebrations.
Kolkata Lights Up Diyas Along The Ganga
Kolkata also joined the diya-lighting programme, with people gathering along the banks of the Ganga. West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari lit a diya and offered prayers for Modi’s long life.

Organisers planned to light around one lakh diyas in Kolkata. Despite cloudy skies, people were seen gathering at the venue and taking part in the programme.
The events across these cities marked the Prime Minister’s birthday through diya-lighting, prayers and public gatherings, with organisers describing them as part of the wider Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
