Tata Motors has entered the compact sedan space with the new Aeris, with prices starting at Rs 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The introductory price makes it the most affordable sedan in its segment, undercutting established rivals such as the Hyundai Aura, Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze.
The Aura starts at Rs 6 lakh, making the Aeris Rs 71,000 cheaper at the entry level. The Dzire, priced from Rs 6.31 lakh, costs Rs 1.02 lakh more, while the Amaze starts at Rs 7.74 lakh, putting it Rs 2.45 lakh above the new Tata sedan.
The new Tata Aeris compact sedan, priced from Rs 5.29 lakh, enters the market as the most affordable in its segment, undercutting rivals like the Hyundai Aura and Maruti Suzuki Dzire. It features petrol and iCNG variants, six standard airbags, and advanced options such as a 360-degree camera.

The Aeris petrol-manual range stretches from Rs 5.29 lakh to Rs 8.19 lakh. Buyers opting for the iCNG version will pay between Rs 6.29 lakh and Rs 9.19 lakh. Across the range, the CNG variants carry a Rs 1 lakh premium over their petrol equivalents.
Petrol versions use Tata’s 1.2-litre Revotron engine, paired with either a five-speed manual or AMT gearbox. The petrol AMT range starts at Rs 6.69 lakh, while the iCNG AMT variants begin at Rs 7.69 lakh.
The automatic gearbox is available from the Pure trim upwards and costs Rs 55,000 more than the corresponding manual version.
Tata Aeris: Design And Interior
The Aeris gets a slim gloss-black grille at the front, flanked by sharp-looking headlamp units. A wide lower air intake and sculpted bumper give the sedan a more pronounced stance, while contrasting cladding around the wheel arches adds to its crossover-inspired look.
Higher variants get LED headlamps and daytime running lights, connected LED tail lamps and a dual-tone roof.

Inside, the Aeris features a dual-tone dashboard, a floating touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument display. Selected variants also get a front centre armrest.
Tata claims the sedan offers 419 litres of boot space, which it says is the highest in the segment. The luggage area has been designed with supporting struts placed along the sides so that they do not significantly eat into usable boot space.
Six Airbags Standard
Even the entry-level Smart variant gets a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, manual air conditioning, tilt-adjustable steering, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX mounts.
Safety equipment includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control and three-point seat belts with reminders for all seats. Connected tail lamps are also part of the package.
Moving to the Pure trim brings Bluetooth audio, steering-mounted controls, two speakers and power windows for all four doors. It also gets a height-adjustable driver’s seat, electrically adjustable outside mirrors with integrated turn indicators, a rear defogger, central locking and follow-me-home headlamps.
The Pure+ variant gets an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with four speakers and an HD reverse camera. Rear AC vents, cruise control, a 65W front USB-C port and front and rear armrests are also added.
Electronic stability control, traction control, hill-hold assist and tyre pressure monitoring are introduced from this trim.
Creative Gets 360-Degree Camera
The Creative variant takes the technology package further with a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen and a 360-degree camera offering both 2D and 3D views.
It also introduces features such as a Blind View Monitor and MultiView Digital Video Recorder. Automatic climate control, LED headlamps and DRLs, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, keyless entry and push-button start are included as well.
Petrol versions of the Creative trim get 15-inch Diamond Aero alloy wheels.
At the top of the range, the Accomplished variant adds ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, wireless smartphone charging and a dashcam recorder. Tata’s iRA connected-car technology, offering more than 35 connected features, is also available.
Other additions include LED fog lamps, a 65W USB-C charging port for rear passengers, adjustable front headrests and a soft-touch front armrest.
Tata Aeris Not For Fleet Buyers
Tata Motors is positioning the Aeris specifically as a private-use sedan and says it will not be sold in the fleet market.
The company said private buyers account for nearly 65% of the compact sedan market and that the Aeris has been developed with this customer base in mind, with an emphasis on styling, comfort and technology.
Fleet customers will continue to be served through Tata’s Xpres-T brand, which follows a separate product and design strategy.
With petrol, CNG and automatic options, the Aeris gives buyers several configurations to choose from. Its pricing, along with features such as a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats and a built-in dashcam, puts the new Tata sedan directly into contention with the Dzire, Aura and Amaze.
