According to a TOI report, HSR Layout police had earlier contacted the women and asked them to file a complaint. They had reportedly sought a day or two to decide whether to approach the police.
Police also traced the auto driver and recorded his version of events. He reportedly told them that the women had hired his auto but later got into an argument with him over the fare. The driver alleged that the women were under the influence of alcohol, abused him and refused to pay.
The police have now registered an FIR against the auto driver and initiated legal action in connection with the incident.
