Shankar has ended speculation about Indian 3 by releasing its first-look poster, signalling that the Kamal Haasan-starrer is moving forward despite Indian 2’s poor reception.
The director shared the poster on X on October 8, showing three people on horseback with the line “the resurgence begins.” Lyca Productions also posted it, saying Senapathy returns with zero tolerance and that the resurgence begins in Indian 3 War Mode.
Director Shankar released the first-look poster for Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 3’ on October 8 via Lyca Productions, indicating the film proceeds despite ‘Indian 2’s’ mixed reception and box office success.
The film continues the franchise that started with Shankar’s Indian and continued with Indian 2. Kamal Haasan reprises his role as Veerasekaran Senapathy. The cast includes Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, and Priya Bhavani Shankar. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music, with Jayamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu, and Lakshmi Saravanakumar involved as writers.
Indian 2 received negative reviews but still became one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of 2024. Its mixed performance had left the future of Indian 3 uncertain until the new poster was released. The first poster for Indian 2 had been revealed during Pongal in 2020.
