Namma Metro commuters faced disruption on Monday after a power failure forced the temporary closure of Cubbon Park Metro Station. Trains on the route are continuing to operate, but will not stop at the station until power supply is restored.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said the step was taken as a safety precaution. While services on the line remain unaffected otherwise, trains are passing through Cubbon Park without halting, impacting passengers who use the station in the central business district.
Bengaluru’s Cubbon Park Metro Station experienced a temporary closure due to a power failure, causing trains to bypass the station as a safety precaution by BMRCL until power is restored.

Commuters have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and use nearby stations as alternatives. The disruption is expected to inconvenience office-goers and daily Namma Metro users travelling through the area, especially during peak hours.
“Due to a power failure, Cubbon Park Metro Station is temporarily closed. Trains will not stop at this station. Normal stoppage will resume once power is restored. Inconvenience caused is regretted,” the official advisory said.
Authorities have not specified a timeline for restoration yet, and Namma Metro commuters are advised to check for updates before starting their journey.
