Northern Railway’s Jammu division planned a Rozgar Mela on May 23. Officials said nearly 220 selected candidates from the Union territory will receive government job appointment letters. The event formed part of the Centre’s wider recruitment drive. Officials said the process aimed to be transparent and based on merit.

Northern Railway’s Jammu division will organise a Rozgar Mela on May 23 to hand nearly 220 appointment letters to selected candidates from Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said the programme supports the Centre’s nationwide employment drive, with roles across railways and other government departments. Arrangements are complete, and new recruits will take a Nation First oath.

Officials said 5,100 candidates were selected across India in this round. Around 220 of them were from Jammu and Kashmir. The appointees were set to join roles across several government bodies. Officials said candidates were chosen for different work areas, based on available posts.

Rozgar Mela appointments in Jammu and Kashmir

The selected candidates were to be posted in railways across technical, non-technical and safety categories. Officials also listed vacancies in postal, financial and medical departments. Posts in banks were included as well. Officials said the ceremony would bring together successful candidates from Jammu and Kashmir and nearby regions.

Rozgar Mela arrangements and ceremony details

Officials said preparations for administration, technical support and security were completed. Senior officials and chief guests were expected to hand over the appointment letters. Officials said the newly appointed youth would also take an oath. The oath would be to serve the nation with a Nation First spirit.

Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu, Vivek Kumar said the youth are the greatest asset of the nation and Jammu Division is proud to host the prestigious Rozgar Mela. “May 23 will bring a new dawn and new hope for 220 families. This initiative will further strengthen the foundation of economic stability and social empowerment in the region,\” Vivek Kumar said.

Officials added that all selected candidates had already received updates. The information was shared through email, SMS and post, officials said. The May 23 Rozgar Mela in the Jammu division was expected to complete the formal handover of letters. Officials said the event linked local selections to the national drive.
