Sapna Choudhary, a Haryanvi singer, dancer and actor, filed a domestic violence case against her husband, Yashveer (Veer) Sahu, earlier this year. On June 9, 2026, a Delhi court granted her interim protection just ahead of the premiere of her upcoming film, Momacu.

Sapna Choudhary Files Domestic Abuse Case

Haryanvi singer Sapna Choudhary received interim protection from a Delhi court on June 9, 2026, against husband Yashveer Sahu after filing a domestic violence case, barring him from contact until the July 25 hearing.

Choudhary approached the Dwarka Mahila Court and raised concerns regarding her personal safety. The court passed the interim order and noted that until the next hearing, Sahu cannot contact, approach, or visit the singer at her residence, workplace, or any venue connected to the film’s premiere.

Why Did Sapna Choudhary Seek Court Protection?

Choudhary alleged in her petition that she had been subjected to repeated incidents of domestic violence and public harassment by her husband. She claimed that the constant recurrence of these incidents eventually forced her to leave the matrimonial home.

Her legal counsel, Advocate Preeti Singh, argued that there were concerns that similar incidents could occur again, especially during the promotional events surrounding Momacu. The plea further stated that the respondent had previously created disturbances at public events and remained capable of doing so. This could potentially affect both her safety and professional reputation.

Court Examined Evidence Before Granting Relief

The court reviewed several materials submitted by the petitioner in support of her request for urgent protection. Reportedly, in support of her allegations, the petitioner presented photographs showing alleged injuries, medical records, affidavits and audio recordings. The court examined the evidence and found sufficient grounds to grant interim relief and issue summons to the respondent.

Judicial Magistrate Nidhi Singh directed that, until the next hearing, Sahu cannot approach or communicate with Choudhary. The order also restricts him from visiting locations associated with her personal and professional life.

Police And Protection Officials Directed To Assist

To ensure compliance with the court’s directions, the concerned Protection Officer and the local Station House Officer (SHO) have been instructed to provide assistance and protection to the singer whenever required.

The next hearing is reportedly scheduled for July 25, 2026.

Sapna Choudhary’s Personal And Professional Journey

Sapna Choudhary gained fame across India through her popular Haryanvi songs and stage performances. She later participated in the reality show Bigg Boss and appeared in The 50. Over the years, she has successfully expanded her career into acting and other entertainment ventures.

Reportedly, Sapna Choudhary and Veer Sahu dated for several years before deciding to tie the knot in 2020. The couple have two children.

As legal proceedings continue, Choudhary remains focused on the promotion of Momacu. The film marks her latest project in the entertainment industry.
