The United States has launched a fresh wave of strikes on Iran, with U.S. Central Command saying the operation targeted military capabilities used to threaten shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. According to CENTCOM, the attacks focused on coastal defence systems, radar sites, cruise missile infrastructure and launch positions, including a prolonged strike on Greater Tunb Island. Iran said a separate strike on a southeastern barracks killed at least seven troops and vowed retaliation. President Donald Trump warned that further attacks could target Iran’s power grid and bridges, while U.S. naval forces tightened their presence around Iran amid rapidly escalating regional tensions.
