“Whatever medical intervention is needed to save Sonam Wangchuk’s life should be done by the government. We note that the life of any citizen is precious… and all efforts ought to be made by government authorities to save the same,” the court ordered.

Plea Warns of Serious Health Risk

The Delhi High Court was hearing the petition filed for the serious safety concerns for Sonam Wangchuk’s health getting down everyday. According to the petition, Sonam Wangchuk may not survive the next 48 hours if he continue doing fast without taking any medical support.

The petition was urged to court to take any action against the unseriousness of looking at Sonam Wangchuk, which is affecting his life and request any medical assistance for him.

The petition also focused on how government is not reacting and responding to the situation, the petition claimed that no authority has tried to help Sonam Wangchuk despite his health is going down. The petitioner said that government is “least concerned and insensitive” in this matter.
