As Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke prepares to return to India for a major protest in Delhi, the government has said it has no information regarding his visa status or any possible deportation proceedings from the United States.

Responding to media queries during a weekly press briefing on Friday, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that authorities do not possess any specific information about Dipke’s travel documents, visa status, or reports suggesting he may have been deported from the US.

The Indian government has no information on CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke’s visa or US deportation status as he prepares for a Delhi protest demanding the Education Minister’s resignation. US deportations of Indians stand at 1,076 in 2026.

The clarification comes amid widespread speculation surrounding Dipke’s return to India ahead of the CJP’s planned demonstration in the national capital. Dipke has publicly expressed concerns that he could face arrest immediately upon landing at Delhi airport and be taken into custody.

During the briefing, the government also shared broader figures related to deportations of Indian nationals from the United States. According to officials, 1,076 Indians have been deported from the US so far in 2026, compared with 3,567 deportations recorded during 2025. The government said India and the United States continue discussions on migration and mobility issues, with a focus on preventing illegal migration while facilitating legitimate travel.

Dipke is expected to participate in the CJP’s first large-scale rally in Delhi, where the party plans to demand the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over issues including the NEET-UG paper leak controversy and concerns related to Class 12 board examination evaluations.

Delhi Police said no official permission has yet been granted for the gathering, which organizers hope to begin after securing the required approvals. Party leaders have appealed for a peaceful protest and called for reforms in the education system.

A native of Maharashtra, the 30-year-old Dipke studied journalism in Pune and later pursued higher education in Boston. He founded the Cockroach Janta Party, which has gained significant traction on social media in recent months.
