With superintendent Arvind Kher, he reviewed operations and praised staff for sustaining postal services despite harsh weather and terrain, reaffirming India Post focus on last-mile connectivity.

Officials said Murthy went to Chushul, a high-altitude village in Durbuk tehsil near the Line of Actual Control LAC. Murthy was accompanied by the superintendent of post offices, Arvind Kher. The team checked day-to-day work and reviewed how postal operations were managed in difficult local conditions.

Officials said postal work in the area continued even with severe weather and tough terrain. Chushul is also described as isolated, which made routine movement harder. Even so, officials said postal services stayed uninterrupted. The services were seen as important for residents and security personnel posted in the frontier region.

During the visit, officials said Murthy met postal employees and noted the effort required there. Murthy also spoke about improving support systems in remote zones. Officials said Murthy repeated the department’s aim to upgrade infrastructure. Murthy also stressed better delivery standards for strategically important locations.

Officials said Murthy met Tsering Norzom, who served at the branch post office for eight months. After the meeting, Murthy said, “Her work is a reflection of the commitment and spirit of India Post in reaching some of the most inaccessible areas.\” Officials said the statement linked staff work to wider service goals.

Officials said postal services remained central to daily life in Chushul. The network helped people stay connected through essential communication support. The visit, officials said, underlined attention on sustaining reliable services in distant border areas. They also said the department aimed to keep access steady despite the region’s harsh environment.
