India’s batting giant Rohit Sharma, who was being pushed to retire from one-day cricket (ODI format), has replied to the critics in the most appropriate style. Rohit Sharma scored a century in the India vs England 3rd ODI. Rohit took only 84 balls to register his 34th century in international cricket. He also achieved a record for scoring 8 tons in other countries. Rohit Sharma is now ahead of cricket great Sachin Tendulkar, who scored 7 hundreds in UAE.
Rohit Sharma was lauded by entire India team standing at Lord’s balcony, along with coach Gautam Gambhir, who gave him a standing ovation.
Responding to critics, Rohit Sharma scored his 34th international century off 84 balls in the India vs England 3rd ODI, setting a record with 8 overseas ODI tons, moving past Sachin Tendulkar’s previous record.
Rohit Sharma started his inning by taking some time to settle first and then he showed his vintage style of hitting pulls and hooks on the bouncy english tracks.

A day ago, several social media reports claimed that Rohit Sharma may not be part of India’s team for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027. It was said that Rohit was informed that selectors are looking beyond him and may give a chance to youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal, who have performed well recently. Soon after the unconfirmed news went viral, many people speculated that Rohit Sharma might announce his retirement after India vs England 3rd ODI at Lord’s and his family is also travelling to England for his farewell game.
However, the BCCI cleared the air that no such communication happened with Rohit Sharma, and he will continue playing for India.
