She visited the protest place to show their solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk, while he is on hunger strike since last 20 days. While, it was for all support to CJP protest against Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan but announcer’s one mistake made things totally funny and interesting at the protest. The one goof-up made by the announcer gave a hilarious response from the people present there.

Announcer’s Slip-Up Draws Laughter at Jantar Mantar
The incident happened when Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav arrived at the Jantar Mantar to show her support to Sonam Wangchuk who has been fasting for the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. She was welcomed by the stage announcer from a CJP associate leader, while introducing her, the announcer made the mistake and calls her as veteran actor Dimple Kapadia.
The announcer said, “Aap se milne ke liye, desh ki yuva sansad, Samajwadi Party se Dimple Kapadia ji humare…”
As soon the announcer made the announcement, people started raising their voice and started laughing. However, soon the announcer realized his mistake and corrected himself by apologising and said, ‘Dimple Yadav Ji..’

This moment became a viral on social media, people are spreading this clip all over the social media. However, despite this incident Dimple Yadav seen unaffected by the goof-up and didn’t show any anger towards the announcer.
Why Dimple Yadav Visited Sonam Wangchuk’s Protest
Dimple Yadav joined the CJP protest to show her support to Sonam Wangchuk days after her husband and SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav talked to Sonam Wangchuk over a phone call. Akhilesh Yadav also urged him to break his hunger strike and continue the protest.
Sonam Wangchuk has been protesting for the resignation demand for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan after the NEET-UG 2026 exam got leaked and CBSE’s on-screen marking system fault. Now his protest has got support from many political parties, activists, student unions to make it an national issue.
The protest highlights concern about the Education system in India and specially for transparency and fairness in competitive exams. This kind of lead actually affects lakhs of student across India every year. Taking Education system fault at centre the protest has become bigger.
Delhi High Court Orders Daily Health Monitoring
As Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike entered 20th day, concern on his health has started. On Thursday, in a hearing about the case, Delhi High Court gives a directive to stop his hunger strike and government officials should meet Sonam Wangchuk.
However, Centre has told Court, that Sonam’s health is being monitored on daily basis and all the necessary medical treatment are being given. Even Delhi High Court has asked Centre to take note on Sonam Wangchuk’s health every day and give him medical assistance.
The High Court Bench said. “We observe that the life of any citizen is precious and all efforts ought to be made by government authorities to save the same.”
Wangchuk’s Health Remains a Matter of Concern
The doctors team that checked Sonam Wangchuk on Thursday said that long hunger strike has taken an important affect on is health. According to the doctor’s latest assessment reveals that Sonam Wangchuk has lost around 9 KG weight in 20 days and now his weight stands on 56.90 KG.
The doctors also said his blood pressure was 105/61 while he was lying down, 101/65 while sitting. His blood sugar also goes down at 80 mg/dL, while his pulse rate was counted at 72 beats per minute.
While Sonam Wangchuk’s health has become serious concern for the protestors, but this goof-up of name Dimple Yadav to Dimple Kapadia has literally gave a laughter to people there.
