Pakistan is bombarded again, as more that 11 people lost their lives, while 30 others were seriously injured, due to a massive explosion that took place at a roadside police checkpoint in the Dera Ismail Khan city in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan on Saturday.
A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle near a police checkpoint in Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan, killing 11 and injuring 30. The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the Saturday attack in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
This information was provided by Pakistan’s emergency services service called Rescue 1122. According to reports, some of the injured were seriously injured and hospitalized.
Explosives-Laden Vehicle Used In Attack
As per the police and rescue services quoted by Associated Press, the explosion occurred because of a bomb attack from a suicide bomber who detonated his car full of explosives near the police check post.
The explosion caused heavy destruction in the surroundings, while the rescue team arrived at the spot to evacuate the wounded and recover the bodies.
The victims were admitted to the nearby hospitals.

TTP Claims Responsibility
The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement, the Associated Press reported.
The incident comes amid a rise in militant violence in Pakistan in recent years. Several attacks have been claimed by groups including the TTP and the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
Security forces have faced repeated attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a region that has experienced militant violence for years.
Videos Show Thick Smoke At Blast Site
Videos circulating on social media showed a large cloud of grey smoke rising from the area following the explosion.
Visuals purportedly recorded near the site showed bricks and other debris scattered around the checkpoint. Authorities continued to secure the area while emergency personnel treated the injured and shifted them to hospitals.
