The second major protest organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar took a dramatic turn on Saturday evening after authorities declared the gathering “illegal” once the permitted protest period ended.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke led a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar demanding minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over exam irregularities, which authorities declared illegal after it exceeded permitted hours, while protesters alleged denial of basic facilities.

The demonstration, led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, was aimed at demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged examination irregularities and paper leaks. However, tensions rose after the protest continued beyond the official deadline and protesters alleged restrictions on basic facilities at the site.

No Water, No Washroom, No Food!

As the protest continued into the evening, Abhijeet Dipke took to X to level fresh allegations against the authorities managing the protest site.

In a post on the social media platform, Dipke claimed that protesters were being denied access to several basic facilities. He wrote: “No water, no food, no street light, no washrooms being allowed by Police.”

He further alleged that many supporters and participants were standing outside the barricaded area but were not being allowed to enter the protest venue.

Protest Continued Beyond Permitted Hours

The protest began around 1 pm and witnessed participation from students, job aspirants and supporters from Delhi and neighbouring states.

According to organisers, permission had been granted until 5 pm. However, Dipke and several protesters remained at the venue even after the allotted time ended. Security officials subsequently declared the gathering unauthorised and began efforts to clear the site.

Despite the deadline, Dipke appealed to supporters and parents to continue joining the movement and raise their voices over issues affecting students across the country.

Dipke Appeals for Peaceful ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’

In a video message recorded from Jantar Mantar, Dipke claimed that police were preparing to detain him and urged young people across the country to continue the campaign peacefully.

Addressing students and supporters, he called for a “Jail Bharo Andolan” (Fill the Jails Movement), encouraging people to organise peaceful demonstrations in their respective districts.

He stressed that any protest should remain non-violent and appealed to supporters to carry forward the movement even if he was taken into custody.

According to Dipke, the campaign is focused on seeking accountability over examination-related concerns raised by students and aspirants.

Protesters Allege Lack of Basic Facilities

The Cockroach Janta Party alleged that protesters were denied access to basic facilities, including drinking water, food and washrooms, during the demonstration.
The organisation claimed these restrictions created difficulties for participants who had gathered peacefully at the venue.

In a statement, CJP described the situation as a matter of concern and urged authorities to restore access to essential services for those present at the protest site.
The group also alleged that lighting arrangements were switched off as evening approached, leaving many demonstrators, including women, in darkness.

Appeal to Police Over Water and Lighting

As the situation developed, Dipke appealed directly to Delhi Police personnel stationed at the venue.
He requested that protesters be allowed to bring water bottles into the area and urged authorities to restore lighting at the protest site.
According to CJP leaders, access to drinking water became a major concern as the gathering continued into the evening hours.

The party maintained that peaceful protesters should have access to basic amenities regardless of the status of the demonstration.

Social Media Posts Criticise Government

The controversy also played out on social media, where CJP shared several posts criticising the government’s handling of examination-related issues.
In one post, the organisation questioned the heavy police deployment at the protest venue and alleged that similar efforts should have been directed towards preventing examination paper leaks.

The remarks reflected the central theme of the protest, which focused on demands for greater accountability, transparency and reforms in the conduct of public examinations.

Focus Remains on Student Issues

While the protest faced administrative hurdles, organisers said their primary objective remained highlighting concerns raised by students and job aspirants.
The demonstration comes amid ongoing debates over examination security, recruitment delays and allegations of paper leaks in various competitive exams.

As authorities monitored the situation at Jantar Mantar, the future course of the movement remained uncertain. However, Dipke’s call for a peaceful nationwide campaign indicates that the group intends to continue raising these issues beyond the protest site.
