BJP national president Nitin Nabin is set to visit Jammu on July 6 and 7. A senior party leader said this is Nabin’s first trip to the Union Territory after taking charge earlier this year. The visit is expected to include meetings with workers and internal reviews of the party’s work in Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Sat Sharma shared the visit plan during a meeting of party office bearers, a party spokesperson said. Union Minister Jitendra Singh attended the session. The meeting reviewed ongoing organisational activity and fixed a roadmap for upcoming programmes. The spokesperson said a core group meeting also took place earlier at the party headquarters.

Sharma said Nabin’s two-day programme includes outreach and internal planning. Nabin will address party workers and take part in public conventions. Nabin will also chair several organisational meetings. These sessions are meant to review the party’s functioning. They also aim to strengthen the BJP’s organisational network in the Union Territory.
BJP disciplinary committee action in Jammu and Kashmir leads to suspensions
The BJP also suspended two senior party leaders, Lateef Khan and Burhan, from primary membership for two years. The spokesperson said the move followed recommendations of the Party’s Disciplinary Committee. The decision was taken on grounds of indiscipline. The spokesperson said the matter was examined in detail under the chairmanship of Sunil Sethi.
A party leader said the two leaders faced allegations linked to an incident in Anantnag. The party leader said Lateef Khan and Burhan were accused of bringing disrepute to the party. The accusation referred to an alleged physical altercation with fellow activists. The party leader said this took place inside the party office in Anantnag.
The party leader said the panel assessed material linked to the case before acting. The party leader said the committee checked evidence, records, and other relevant facts. The party leader said the review found both individuals were involved in serious indiscipline. The party leader added this breached the party’s constitution, discipline, and organisational values.
