A shocking case has come under light from Nagpur’s Dighori where Police has rescued a class 12 student from a rented apartment after allegedly she was held captive, tortured and repeatedly sexually assaulted for more than 24 hours.

Nagpur Police rescued a Class 12 student held captive, tortured, and sexually assaulted for over 24 hours in a Dighori rented apartment. Accused Nirbhay Pakhare, 20, allegedly used a fake Instagram profile to lure and blackmail the victim before the assault.
The accused has been identified as 20-years-old Nirbhay Pakhare who was arrested after police tracked him on digital evidences including Instagram chats and mobile phone tracking. The victim is receiving medical treatment, while Police is investigating that whether the accused Nirbhay has done same with other girls or not.
Fake Instagram Profile Allegedly Used to Trap Victim
According to Police investigation, an undergraduate business management student from Thane allegedly created fake Instagram profile in May last year as ‘Akash Mehra’ to make friendship with girls.
According to the investigation, he slowly gained the trust of the victim and got convinced to get explicit photographs of her. Later he used those photos to blackmail her to meet him. Police has confirmed that the accused had earlier assaulted the girl at hotel and later took a rented apartment in Dighori. He multiple times assaulted her whenever he visited Nagpur.
The victim’s family filed a complaint at Hudkeshwar Police station after the girl failed to return home on Monday.
Digital Trail Led Police to the Apartment
According to Police, the investigation started after officers examined victim’s Instagram account and other digital records.
Then investigators contacted with Thane Police where the accuses lives and when his mother called him, then they able to find his location. Another major hint came when the accused forced the girl to call her parents and tell them she was safe.
Police first tracked a food delivery agent who was going to same location and followed him to the apartment before the late night raid.
According the officers, when they entered the flat around 11 PM, they found the girl’s hands and legs are tied to bed. Police also said that the girl had multiple injuries and immediately she was taken to Government medical college and hospital for the treatment.
Forensic Examination Underway
Senior Inspector Anamika Mirzapure has said that the accused Nirbhay Pakhre has been sent for two days police custody.
“We are investigating whether the accused was involved in similar offences in the past. His Instagram account, mobile phones and other digital devices are being thoroughly examined,” Mirzapure said.
She added, “Electronic devices recovered from the flat are being examined, while DNA samples, fingerprints and other forensic evidence are being meticulously collected. They will play a crucial role in the investigation.”
Investigation Continues
Now Police have started an investigation tracking accused Nirbhay’s past and his online activities to know if he has made any other girl also victim or does he has history of repeating the same crime.
Police also examining the evidences were collected from the rented apartment like electronic devices, DNA samples and other evidences.
