CM Yogi Adityanath led UP government is planning a major road infrastructure development to connect rural areas to the connect with roads. The UP government is planning to connect villages with 250 or more population will be connected to main roads under forth phase of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY-IV). The Rural Development has already started DPRs (Detailed Project Reports) for the project of roads connecting.

Uttar Pradesh is connecting villages with 250+ population to main roads under PMGSY-IV and upgrading kutcha roads (min 500m) in villages with 500+ population into pucca roads, based on 2011 census data.
Villages With 250+ Population to Get Better Connectivity
The project will cover the villages and district where the facilities have not reached. The selection of the villages will be selected by 2011 census and guidelines issued by Central Ministry of Rural Development.
The UP Rural Road Development authority has asked all the districts to make a list of eligible villages and submit it. After receiving the list and reports, the UP government will send a proposal to Central government for the funds to complete this project.
Kutcha Roads to Be Turned Into Pucca Roads
Under the Kutcha roads turning to Pucca Roads, the UP government is planning to improve roads with 500 or more members population villages. All the Kutcha roads that are at least 500 metres long will be made in Pucca Roads.
The District officials are planning a survey to make list of villages that comes in the rules made for development by population category. These roads are being aimed to make things easier for the villages like schools, hospitals, markets.
PMGSY-IV to Expand Rural Road Network
Interestingly, UP government is already making 25,369.674 kilometres of roads under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Also, about 5,820 kilometres of roads under PMGSY-III being made using FDR (Full Depth Reclamation) technology at the cost of ₹5,992.51 crore. However, the government has already completed 5,160 kilometres of bituminous concrete roads.
Once the list will be ready the UP government will send the proposal for the approvals for funding. As soon the funds will be approved the government will start bringing the constructions of the roads.
