SP Chief Alleges Excessive Force During Student Protest

Asking for the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, Akhilesh Yadav said, “A resignation is not a big thing. We can get the minister’s resignation whenever we want. If the minister does not resign inside the House, we will get his resignation outside the House.”

While questioning Police’s action against protestors, he said, “The hands of students and leaders were broken, their heads were injured. Will you tear the clothes of daughters?”

Akhilesh Yadav also added, “Rahul Gandhi and I went to the Prime Minister’s residence because we had no other option. Had we been allowed to speak here, we would not have needed to go there. If the Prime Minister can speak outside, why can’t he come to the House and speak? Can’t he make a statement for the youth in Parliament?”

Government Says Ready For Discussion

While responding to Opposition’s demands, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the government was ready to discuss in the parliament.

“The government is fully prepared for a discussion on the NEET and paper leak issue. For the future of our youth, we want everyone to come together and hold a meaningful discussion,” Rijiju said.

Speaker Om Birla later said that both Opposition and government want discussions on the issue and asked the leaders to choose a right time and duration for the debate.
