The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) delegation will meet Union ministers at the Constitution Club of India at 12.30 pm on Friday as the Centre agreed to hold talks at a “neutral” venue.

It comes hours after activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day hunger strike late on Thursday night.

The government will meet the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Friday at 12:30 PM at the Constitution Club of India. Hours after activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his hunger strike, the CJP reiterated its demand for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s dismissal.

Speaking to ANI, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) National Spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said that their stand remains firm that Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should be sacked. He said, “At 12.30 am, the PM had to release a video, which means the pressure is high. The PM said that he will take very strict action.

The strictest action can only be removing Dharmendra Pradhan; then we will believe you are serious about the youth of India. At 12.30 pm, there is a meeting with JP Nadda ji in CCI. Before that, we will hold a press conference at 11 am.”

The party spokeperson told a news agency that the government comes with an open mind and listens to the people. According to a report in PTI, the CJP had earlier declined the government’s invitation to hold talks at a minister’s residence or office.

On July 20, CJP national spokespersons Das and Ashutosh Ranka had met Union Health Minister J P Nadda at his residence.

The protest against the Centre entered day 35 although activist Sonam Wangchuck has called off hunger strike following the assurance from the government that it will address the key concerns raised during the protest.

Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh met the activist at Medanta Hospital.

In a post on X, he said that the government representatives assured him of discussions in Parliament on the issue of accountability in the failing examination system. He said, “The government also gave assurance that families of suicide victims in the recent NEET examination paper leak will be given adequate compensation and that there will be no cases registered against the peacefully protesting students and youths.”

History and Significance of Constitution Club of India

The Constitution Club of India, near Vithalbhai Patel House, has long served as an informal meeting place for lawmakers for nearly eight decades.

The club was established in 1947 at Curzon Road as a social and recreational space for members of the Constituent Assembly who were involved in drafting the Constitution. It was formally inaugurated in February 1965 by President Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.

Over the years, the Club shifted to its present premises in the Constitution House area.

The Club is not another members-only retreat for refreshments but a place where political strategies are discussed over tea and politicians engage in critical issues off the record.

The Club has hosted numerous press conferences, parliamentary events, exhibitions and meetings involving political parties over the years.

In simple terms, the Constitution Club of India preserves a living link between the making of the Constitution and the everyday social world of India’s parliamentarians.
