The President of India, Droupadi Murmu has accepted the resignation of Former Union President Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday, after the former minister announced it on social media. Now after the resignation of Pradhan, the home of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has been emotional and his parents have stated that the protest was the long struggle of their son.

President Droupadi Murmu accepted the resignation of former Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday, following protests against NEET irregularities led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, whose parents detailed his struggles during the now successfully concluded demonstration.

While taking to media, Dipke’s parents shared how he went through hardships during the protest which was to oppose the NEET paper leak and alleged irregularities in public examinations. Now when government has accepted the demand of CJP, the protest has been called off successfully.

Parents Recall Months of Anxiety

Abhijeet Dipke’s mother Anita Dipke while taking about the struggle of his son gets emotional and tell what his son went through during the protest. She said that she used to wake up till 3 AM only worrying about her son. “He had to sleep amidst mosquitos…he was diagnosed with typhoid,” she said.

While sharing her relief after Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, she said, “I feel very happy today. It has been a wonderful day. I am extremely happy. He (Abhijeet) has finally received the reward for his sincere efforts…He was determined, and he kept saying that his demand had to be met…”

She shared what his family went through the struggle during this phase and how it always make tension in the family.

“Our son was alone there, even though many other students were with him. As parents, we were scared…When he was slapped in Jaipur, it hurt us deeply. We couldn’t sleep that night…We plan to welcome him by distributing sweets and celebrating together…,” Anita said.

Protest Marked by Health Issues and Attacks

Before the resignation of Pradhan, earlier in the day, Abhijeet Dipke said that he had been diagnosed with typhoid but he said that it will weaken the protest. Noticeably, During the protest in Jaipur, Abhijeet Dipke was assaulted and some people tried to pull him down from the shoulders of supporters. Even one of the person threw ink on him during the Jantar Mantar protest only.

The protest took a long turn when activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the protest and announced his hunger strike for the cause that lasted till 26 days.
