Prime Minister Narendra Modi is back with a late night selfie video on Friday. In his video he talks about the abusive remarks made to him and his late mother.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned abusive remarks made against him and his mother during protests, appealing in a video for forgiveness and guidance for the youth involved, urging them to contribute to nation-building rather than facing punishment.
PM Modi started the video with “Hi Friends”. Posting the video with the caption “Abuses never solve anything,” the Prime Minister urged people not to respond with anger but instead guide young people who may have gone astray.
The video came a day after Parliament passed the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, and amid the ongoing debate over the language used during the anti-paper leak protests.
PM Modi Condemns Abusive Language
In the video, PM Modi referred to the abusive slogans raised during the protest, saying not only was he targeted, but insulting remarks were also made against his late mother.
He said the entire country had witnessed what happened at Jantar Mantar and acknowledged that many people were deeply hurt by the language used.
The Prime Minister described the incident as a “cultural shock”, saying many citizens were disturbed to hear such language being used, especially by young people.
‘Young People Deserve a Chance to Change’
Despite criticising the abusive remarks, PM Modi said he did not want to respond with punishment alone.
He said that people often make mistakes when they are young and should be given an opportunity to learn from them.
Instead of isolating or condemning them, he appealed to society to embrace them and help them choose the right path.
According to the Prime Minister, those who lose their way need guidance and support rather than hatred.
PM Modi Says He Wants to Forgive the Students
In one of the key messages of the video, PM Modi said he wished to forgive those who used abusive language during the protest.
He remarked that legal proceedings and punishment alone cannot change a person’s mindset. What is more important, he said, is helping young people understand their responsibilities and values.
Calling them “our children,” the Prime Minister urged citizens to guide them instead of treating them as enemies.
Appeal to Youth to Join Nation-Building
Ending his address, PM Modi invited the country’s youth to move forward together and contribute to India’s development. He said the country was progressing rapidly and that the younger generation had an important role to play in shaping its future.
The Prime Minister also said that his life is dedicated to the people of India and to securing a better future for the country’s youth. He concluded by inviting them to join hands in building a stronger and more developed nation together.
